Pride of the Pack: Kitting Out East Bierley C.C.
There’s more to Bear than beautifully crafted blades. We also offer a complete range of high quality teamwear – from caps and sweaters to playing shirts, training gear and leisure wear.
As the season draws to a close, we’ve been catching up with some of our satisfied customers. First up? East Bierley C.C. committee member and 2nd XI captain Ross Monaghan.
Hi, Ross! First up, can you tell us a little bit more about the club?
The club is 151 years old, we’re lucky enough to play our cricket at an attractive ground at the heart of East Bierley village with one of the best views in cricket over the Spen Valley. We have two senior sides and a couple of junior teams – so just over 50 regular players across the club.
What made you choose Bear for your teamwear?
Previously, we’d worked with a local sports shop to order our kit. It wasn’t ideal – as we had to order everything in bulk. When Adam from Bear Cricket signed for the club, it seemed the perfect opportunity to create a partnership that made ordering kit a lot more convenient for our players. We’d seen plenty of the top players in Bradford Cricket Premier League using Bear bats and batting equipment, so we knew right away that the quality would be there too.
How did you find the process?
We needed everything. Playing shirts, jumpers, training kit, caps, hoodies – the lot.
Bear managed to deliver it all within a tight four-week timeframe. All we had to do was give them digital files for the club badge and sponsor logos, plus a list of names, corresponding orders and kit size. Following the initial bulk order, Bear created our online club shop. Meaning individual players could order their own kit individually from that point onwards. It’s so much easier than having to place bulk orders through a club rep. Especially with so many players and juniors for us to juggle.
What do your players make of the kit?
It’s all been very well received – the spectators, committee and players all love it. The material is really nice quality and the traditional jumpers, in particular, are fantastic. In terms of cost? It’s probably around the same as we were paying before. But well worth the investment.
Having the same kit across the entire club – and returning to maroon – has made us look much more professional. Being able to have the juniors and seniors in the same training gear really adds to the family feel of the club too.
