Pride of the Bear Pack: Kitting out Oakham C.C.
Did you know that we offer much more than just bats, pads and gloves? We also kit out clubs with our complete range of high quality teamwear – from caps and sweaters to playing shirts, training gear and leisure wear.
As the season draws to a close, we’ve been catching up with some of our satisfied customers. Including Oakham C.C. committee member, Charlie Baker.
Hi, Charlie! First up, can you tell us a little bit more about the club?
2020 was meant to be a big year for our club – our 150th anniversary. While that didn’t quite pan out how we planned, it was great to get some cricket in. We run four senior weekend teams and have around 120 juniors, ranging from 4-15 years old, involved at the club.
What made you choose Bear for your teamwear?
We’d previously been with one of the other big-name kit suppliers. But we wanted to produce something truly special for our one-off 150th anniversary playing shirt. Bear was one of the companies we looked at – and after one look at the kit we decided we wanted a whole new range. From white and training kit to hats and a range of supporter wear.
How did you find the process?
Even in the face of Covid-related complications it was all very straightforward. Bear were really flexible and allowed us to collect and distribute our own orders, our way. While the addition of the online club shop has been very well received by the club members.
What do your players make of the kit?
Everyone is very proud to wear their kit around the club and in every day life. In fact, many of the teams we’ve played have gone out of their way to say how smart and unique our kit looks. Bear have allowed us to customise every last detail – meaning we haven’t been locked in to the standard off-the-shelf colours and combinations offered by other suppliers. The competitive prices really help to get the lads behind it too. It’s not uncommon to see 40 Oakham CC 1/4 zips or hoodies at the club bar on a Saturday night!
